"Because of Cathy, fibromyalgia no longer rules over me. She always knows exactly what I need and customizes my massage accordingly. Her touch is pure and knowledgable. I can't imagine going to anyone else! Thank you for giving me the power, energy, and stamina I need to do the things I love!"
"Thank you so much for giving my son such a therapeutic and relaxing massage experience. We are blessed to have found you!"

"I was transported into a different universe! Amazing!"

"Cathy has a gift for finding the muscles that need attention, and they are often not the muscles I think are the issue. I go in barely able to stand up straight and walk out feeling loose and flexible again. She's great!"
"A calm, relaxing environment for Reiki sessions. If you want a unique experience, this is the place to go. Cathy is always full of new insight and body healing techniques. Also, do not forget to try the essential oil body lotions.."
"I willingly drive 700 miles for a massage from Cathy. She is so intuitive and not only brings technical knowledge to a session but a true desire to help people feel better and live a better life."
Sara, Atlanta, GA
"Cathy's massage is a whole mind, body, and spirit experience. While working externally on identified tight areas, somehow internally my tensions and anxiety also release…and after a few minutes in her hands, my body becomes one with her massage table. It's more apparent as to how relaxed I am when she asks me to turn over and I can hardly move…wishing that there was a pancake turner that could do the job. Specifically, Cathy helped me through a shoulder injury and surgery this year. My doctor and physical therapist were amazed with how quickly I healed, resumed mobility, and have reduced scarring due to her help. They wrote to my insurance company saying that massage was a medical necessity! Consider Pure Wellness a part of your wellness plan and take time for the best care in her very kind, fun, and amazing ways".

"Cathy is very skilled in Reiki both as a practitioner and teacher. I have received Reiki from her and have taken Reiki Level One with her as the instructor. She is very relatable and goes out of her way to make you feel at ease and comfortable. She gets me to a level of relaxation and meditation that I have been unable to achieve by myself or through other methods. Highly recommend."
I am currently finishing my Master Aromatherapy Certification and recently had to do a research paper on anything pertaining to Aromatherapy. My first thought was to write it on ethical and safe practices, as that is what I am a large advocate for in the world of aromatherapy. But soon, my brain started realizing I had done a ton of research and a few articles on that and I was ready to expand into something that isn’t a mainstream topic. So I began digging into the combination of Astrology and Aromatherapy.
There are mountains of information on each subject, but very little combining the two. In the end, I found some captivating and intriguing publishings and did my own experimentation! The two books I found to be most informative were Nicholas Culpeper’s The Complete Herbal and Patricia Davis’ Astrological Aromatherapy.
In my conclusion, these were my thoughts on the matters
“Throughout the process of my studies in aromatherapy and astrology, I have come across many skeptics. I, being one of them, have always tried to come from a view of learning rather than automatically shunning what I don’t believe. I think it’s important to note that science is both reliable and transitory. It continues to evolve and what may have been hard facts at one point, can shift over time. New findings of old traditions can also be viewed through that lens. On the other side, astrology is sometimes thought by modern society as a belief trying hard to be science. I don’t believe this to be accurate either. Astrology is an old tradition that once was a science and has evolved to be an art form. To me, it is not the end all, be all. I can see it as a confirmative art supporting my life while balancing science. Aromatherapy is similar, (though more researched) and combining the two is a delicate dance that can bring beauty, joy and healing support into lives.”
Since I started doing guided meditations at work, many clients over the years have requested I record them. The first step towards that has happened! Though this is a bit lower quality, it should tide everyone over until I make my way into a real studio. This first meditation guides you through the body awareness and calming breath and is a quick little 6 minute meditation to decompress your day.
Yesterday, I had the honor to teach an aromatherapy class at Vision Forward‘s Play it Forward Sports & Wellness Camp at Marquette University. Vision Forward provides services and resources, from birth through adulthood, to people with visual impairments.
What a BLAST! 16 adolescents ranging from 10-16 years old joined me in learning a little background on essential oils and safety. They all experienced different aromas and what those could help with: sleeping, relaxing, focusing, and waking up. At the end of the class, they picked 1 or 2 essential oils to mix with their carrier oils to take home. They were enthusiastic and such a joy to work with!
In April, my neighbor Kristine Joy moved in next door to my suite. Kristine is also a Reiki Master Teacher and an Intuitive as well! She holds regular spirit message circles and is an all-round kind, fun and warm person!
In August we will have a yoga studio opening up across the hall from us! Deanna from Tulasara Wellness and Cari of Simple Joy Yoga will be moving in so make sure you grab a spot in their classes after a service with me!
For years I have been going back and forth on becoming an accredited teacher for continuing education. I finally decided this year to do it!
After a lengthy application process, outlining my classes by each hour, listing objectives and more, it was finally done. Then I had to be patient as the approval period could be up to 8 weeks.
Yesterday, I received notice that I am now an Approved Provider of NCBTMB! This means I can give continuing education credits for professionals who need them! Licensed Massage Therapists of most states in the country need these to continue their licensure so it’s pretty important!
I am excited to be about to provide this now!
On February 2nd, 2008 I turned 30 and graduated from Lakeside School of Massage. It was both a great beginning and shock to a new decade for me. I wanted to help people and changed careers from doing Graphic Design and Office Management to becoming a Licensed Massage Therapist.
Our economy had just tanked as well, leading me through my first few years in the massage world with some real eye-opening experience.

As Pure Wellness has grown providing more Reiki and wellness classes, I found myself needing a specific space for those classes. I had seen this building 4 years ago when we were space hunting, but it seemed so out of reach at the time. Then my family and I moved into that area, not realizing that was that building. Then I went business space shopping at the beginning of the year and it popped up in the listings.
