The Language of the Skies & The Feeding of the Soul: The Astrothecary

The first time I picked up an astrology book was when I was 15. Connecting to my sun sign of Aquarius was like opening up a book and reading about my life. From then on, astrology flitted in and out of my life. About 6 years ago, I started really delving into it, reading as much as I could and pulling up charts to try to decipher them. A year ago I made the leap to start studying with a teacher and mentor who has been doing astrology for almost 40 years.

You may ask “what the heck does this all have to do with wellness, Cathy?” It took me this long to realize what an important, historical, life art that astrology is and how it has woven itself in and out of my own wellness path, but it kept showing up in sessions with clients, my classes and life in general. And isn’t wellness the overall arc of life?

Last year, I finished up my Master Aromatherapy certification and had to pick a subject to do my research paper on. I decided to write about Astrology and Aromatherapy. Unfortunately, there aren’t many books out there on those 2 specific things together, so I pulled out old texts on astrology and herbs and went from there. During this time, I had started reformulating my Pure Aromatics line focusing more and more on what the skies were telling me and the energies that inspired some of my creations. I had always blended with purpose, intent and intuition, but I’ve now completely immersed my creations into this amazing life art of astrology.

And so The Astrothecary was born.

The name came from the blending of Astrology and Apothecary, as both were just as important as the other. When one peruses The Astrothecary store, they might recognize zodiac and planetary names, herbs and aroma names and sometimes crystals and stones, but aren’t really sure what they can do. Each of these are limited edition, small-batch and come with instructions how and when to use. Once they’re gone, they’re gone and you will have to wait until the skies come back around again!
